Dude [that's Theo, not Charles] you're so full of yourself that you
even disregard what was written just to fit your own propaganda...

When you say "My code is easier to write, faster, and runs on all
platforms." – assuming you're comparing it with the sample code I gave
Mark. I have issues with at least two of your points of contention,
easier to write and runs on all platforms.

1/ x-plat: since when in buggeration is the PCRE engine used in RB
*not* x-plat? You start reading your own press, we'll soon learn that
the green colour in RB's corporate identity was forced upon us by
Martians.

2/ easier to write. Trying to force-feed us an unknown, nebulous API
and claiming it's easier to write, 'scuse me sweets, but stop abusing
controlled substances.

PLUS, of course, the little problem that Charles mentions, your code
would make a pig's breakfast of the text to treat. As we say in
French, let's not confuse speeding and rushing blindly...

If it does not distinguish between "and" and "band" when replacing --
presumably it would reduce "KC and the Sunshine Band" to "KC the
Sunshine B".
