asc(LeftB(ConvertEncoding("ΓΌ", Encodings.UTF16), 1)) should be 0
for big endian and 252 for little endian.
Returns 0 on a MacOS app running on an Intel Mac. But this is, of
course, a PPC app. You'll need to check again if RS implements
universal binary support.
