So the general conclusion is that Windows works fine, but using
Linux is not quite there yet. Someone out there should do
a tutorial on setting up Parallels with Linux for the purpose of
debugging (when the details are worked out).
I have Linspire set up with Parallels Workstation and I am able to
remote debug into it from REALbasic 2006 R2 running on the same
machine in OS X. I haven't made any changes to the network
settings; it just worked as is.

I mucked about and mucked about and mucked about and finally got my
sessions to work using
In OS X
Network Post Configurations
Parallels Host-Guest Adapter ENABLED
Internet sharing ON
Sharing from Airport to en2 (parallels host-guest adapter)
In the VM (all are set the same for networking)
Network Adapter Bridged ethernet to EN1 (Airport)
And all can be pinged and remote debugged to
I have found that if I relocate and my IP Address changes on my
Airport card that I MAY have to stop and restart internet sharing for
the VM's to continue working in this fashion
