How would you go about embedding a font into RealBasic? I have a font that I would consider somewhat proprietary that I really do not want just installed directly on the user's system.
This isn't as easy as it used to be with the Resource Manager. However, the current method is much safer and reliable, not to mention sanctioned by Apple, which strongly recommended against embedding fonts in one's resource fork.
Here's my first crack at it: You could store the font in your application as a string constant. Then, when your app is running, copy the string variable out to a file and use the Carbon Font Manager to activate the font for your app only. Upon quitting, deactivate the font and delete it. You could even put the font file in the temporary items folder, give it some random name, and make it invisible for additional security.
