Thanks for pointing this out. I used a hexcompare on the files and indeed the end of line conversion was there. My mistake since I forgot to set the type for each connection, and hence it never switched back to binary after getting a LIST result.
Time to wear my dunce hat for sure.
Anyways it's fixed now and the filesizes are correct.
I uploaded a new version :
FTPr2.zip FTP Class (please note that this is code under development and not fit for everyday use)

More work needs to be done to catch exceptions, but it all seems to work now. I also need to doublecheck the requirements for a minimal FTP client, so that I'm sure i have all necessary commands there. If anybody wants to help debug this thing, feel free to download the example project and e-mail me offlist.
