If you need to do it from the machine itself, you might need to do something lower-level. I expect that most processes on a sleeping machine are also resting.

Wouldn't that entail recruiting another machine to send the wakeup message? I need this to be autonomous.

Hello!

I need to wake a PC up from sleeping/screensaver mode. I tried using PressKeyMBS to move the mouse and the specified time, but that didn't seem to wake it up. Does anyone know of a trick/ plugin that can do this? I tried googling and I couldn't find anything that looked relevant.

You might want to try the Network.WakeOnLAN method.
