Sorry, gone for the weekend.  Sven is correct.  The offer I received
when upgrading from 5.5 to 2005 was for six months of upgrades, not
twelve.  It expired a week before the R2 release.  Now, if someone feels
that they owe me an additional six months, I'll take it!
 
By the way, I think I traced this down to a problem with the underlying
TIFFS and BMPs.  They were created on a scanner with Windows 2000.  I
re-saved them on Photoshop and now they work fine.  I'm wondering if it
was an endianness problem.  Its working now though.
