The preemptive thread classes should work ok. You just need to be
really careful as to what you do when you are 'IN' the thread. RB
will let you do what you want but then it'll probably crash if you're
not carefull. I'd recommend doing all your calculations in the thread
then sending the main thread (rb thread) some kind of notification
that you are done working with the data.
