I have a window with many controls (80). Due to a GUI redesign, I
need to change a tab panel control to a page panel. I figured I
would export the window as XML, open it up in a text editor,
change the super, reimport the window. This used to be easy
enough to do in VB. Has anyone tried it in RB? Pitfalls?
Try it and tell us how it goes, then you'll be the expert. ;)
On a copy of course; wouldn't want to mess up your actual project.
Yes, it does work. It is easier in VB, but it can be done. I have
successfully changed my tab panel to a page panel and adjusted the
height. One thing to note, you have to change the beginning of every
event for the control you are changing. For some reason the "super"
is placed before each event. This bit me the first time and I lost
all of my panels and the control reverted to a two-tab tab panel
control.
