I'm wondering, with respect to the image formats... maybe someone can clarify this for me...

If I attach BMP files to a RealBasic project, is that sufficient for ALL platforms? Do I actually need QuickTime installed anywhere, on any platform, to view those images?

My supposition is that the answer is no, since my code works perfectly on Windows XP, and breaks ONLY in Mac OS X.

The original image file format should only matter to the REALbasic IDE. If you are running the Windows version of REALbasic then only BMP would work without having Quicktime installed (REALbasic might require quicktime anyways). For the Macintosh versions, any image format that Quicktime recognizes is acceptable.

The reason why this only affects the IDE is that REALbasic will convert all images to the proper format for the compiled app. If Windows (and I think Linux), pictures will be converted to the BMP format, and for Macintosh it will be converted to the PICT format.
