Dear folks, may I ask you again for your help - I got some trouble with the
GameInput Manager...

This is the surrounding I work with:
- Win XP Prof 2 PC using RB 2006 Release 2 / 3 Professional
- a standard PS 2 mouse
- a standard PS 2 keyboard
- and a Interlink Electronics RemotePoint Navigator (such a tiny wireless USB
Presenter device which could be used to control PowerPoint presentations,
really neat device).

This is a detail on the RemotePoint Navigator: It hooks up using USB and
registers as a Keyboard and a Mouse HID interface.

I would like to access especially the RemotePoint Navigator to find out the
buttons are pressed. If you press a button on it it does not act as a mouse but
as a keyboard - so pressing a button on the Navigator is the same as pressing
i.e. "b" on the keyboard. I would like to read the Navigator "key-presses"
directly to avoid getting trouble with popupMenu or editfield controls if I use
the window1.keydown event.

So - here are my two questions:

A) I've read in another thread that somebody stated that if you have 2
keyboards attached to your PC then you should see two keyboard devices in the
list. This does not work on my side, I only get one keyboard and one mouse when
looking at the list. Could someone comment on this? I'd like to avoid getting
keypress events from the keyboard and only reacting on keypress events from the
Navigator.

B) When figuring out the GameInput Manager with the GameInput.rb example or the
newer ones (the one which uses a 100 ms timer to look at
gameinputelement.value) I get clean 128 values when pressing a "b" on the
keyboard, but when pressing the navigator button which sends a "b" I get mostly
a zero value and only sometimes a 128 value; if I turn down the time on the
timer to 10 or 1 ms then I receive events on the navigator but when pressing
"b" on the keyboards I get hundrets of event calls... Is there a clean and
smooth way to find out if the "b" event came once from the keyboard or once
from the navigator ? could someone give me a small example if somebody knows a
way ?

I would really appreciate your help.

Thank you,

Oliver
