4x speed loss in compile speed is pretty substantial no matter what the cause. I'm not sure virtual function calls are worth that big a price, if that's the actual cause.


Ah, compile speed. I thought Stefan was bitching about general execution speed. I am hard-pressed to recall anything positive he has ever said about REALbasic. I'd guess compile speed is slower because the source code has to be assembled from the IDE or something. I do wish that RS would take one of its rapid release periods and devote it to optimization and bug fixes.
