With something over 10 million people who have Preview and Address
Book it's hard to see how you could believe Apple's standard of
quality is somehow less than RBs.

Personally I've never seen a bug in either Preview or Address Book
but I've seen plenty in RB.

I saw bugs in Preview (I don't use Address Book) and I saw plenty bugs in Mac OS X 10.4 (from the original thru .7); I also saw bugs in REALbasic. I even saw VERY OBVIOUS bugs in old Mac OS... that I was asking myself: "what are doing the testing department and the people who receive Mac OS for testings... ?"

The matter is when they release a version without these bugs; and to achieve that, sometimes they have to know that a bug exists (as I wrote it earlier, Apple have some bug squash on hold and wait a main release to use it, 10.5 for example).

Standard of quality ? Nothing really related to a bug squash :(

The true is that if 1 billion of US people cry loud in the Apple Computer, Inc. ears about some bugs, Apple will release an update with the bug squash asap. Same with REAL Software (if they can put on hold hot material they are working on).

At last, do not expect anything and you will be happy to see news (bug squash here and there and some new feature).
