Tired of how slow my G4 was, I just bought a MacBook and installed 2GB RAM.

I wasn't expecting this to make all that much difference with REALbasic performance, but in fact, it's significantly faster. This appears to be mostly because my old computer had 768MB RAM, and would wind up swapping quite a bit. With REALbasic, NetNewsWire Lite, Mail, and Firefox running, I'm using almost 1.2GB RAM, so it's no wonder.

If anyone has been holding off on buying a MacBook until Intel- native REALbasic comes out, I say jump now.

What model and speed was your G4?

It was a 12" PowerBook, 1.5GHz.

The difference, I think, comes from the extra memory, and somewhat from the other major programs I'm running being Intel native. So if you have a honking Quad Core G5, don't worry about it. But if you're on the fence about upgrading a laptop, this is a totally transformed experience for me.
