I've long had it in mind to implement WebDAV in REALbasic code. This is the protocol your Mac uses to communicate with .Mac, and it's a standard protocol in both OS X and Windows (from at least XP, possibly 2000).
It's all serving up and responding to XML, but the standard is surprisingly baroque, as I recall when I looked at it.
Still, this would be a really good way to do cross-platform pseudo- or real file sharing. Being able to program that in REALbasic would actually be amazingly powerful.
