Declares with C++ Libs?

I know this comes up every now and then, with somewhat dim prospects,  
but I'll ask again anyway: how does one go about using RB Declares  
with a C++ lib (dylib, DLL)? Creating and using C++ objects, their  
methods & properties, etc.? Any good RB examples of this floating  
around anywhere?
