Sure.
Several keys things give it away
- it is readable writable and ejectable
- it has a hidden .VolumeIcon.icns file at its root
- it has a hidden ._iPod_Control at its root
- it has a visible directory called iPod_Control
IF it has all these the likelihood it is an ipod is very good.
There may be more characteristics you want to use to determine if
it's an iPod
