Ah, then you should ask that. I can't imagine the folks at RS really wanting to commit to a particular sort algorithm (which is an internal implementation detail), but since whether it's stable is an observable behavior, they could quite reasonably commit to that. I suspect that it *is* stable, but if you can't find any documentation to that effect, and can't get an answer out of the guys at RS, then you probably shouldn't depend on it.
