and (for Mac OS) it automatically detects if your Appearance
settings are
set to use "both arrows together" or "one arrow each end"
scrollbars. (For
all other platforms, it defaults to using the "one arrow each end"
design).
The scrollbar has a separate set of graphics for when it is
disabled (i.e.
when its window does not have the focus).
