I just discovered this yesterday in RB 2006r3:

Dropping a file with an extension of ".xml" in the project editor
window to use as a text source causes a) RB to show the "This file
appears to have been corrupted..." dialog and after clicking the
dialog's only button, b) suck up nearly all the CPU cycles (as shown
in Activity Monitor) doing nothing discernible -- in other words,
completely locking up. It requires a Force Quit to exit.

This is on a Mac with OS X 10.4.7.

Likewise, if you would like to see RS add a "Cancel" button to the
"invalid RB file" dialog that pops up  when you accidentally let RB
try to open a non-RB XML-format file with an ".xml" extension, you
might want to add your voice to this feature request:
