Is there a way to set the default size of a RectControl subclass?

What I mean is say I subclass BevelButton to make MySpecificBevelButton. Is there any for me to set the size that appears when I drag (or double click) to put an instance of MySpecificBevelButton in a window (or container control)?

Wouldn't it be the desired size if it was already inside a ContainerControl that was pre-defined?

Does that not lose somethings ,,, for example setting and seeing the caption on the Window visually ?

Don't you still see it if you drag it from the browser pane's Project Controls?

If you want to be able to set it and see it in the layout window you would need to be able to set the subcontrol's property in the property pane of the layout window and have it take effect immediately. Can that be done?

I thought the code in computed properties (the only way I know of to expose the properties of subcontrol in the properties pane of a container control subclass instance) woudl not excecute at design time.

In any case not everybody has RB Pro.

Weren't you talking about fixed default settings a minute ago?

Settable DEFAULTS. A default value does not imply that I want.need it to be unchnagebale at deagin time... I just want it to be the default! ;)

And, although ContainerControl is currently a Pro-only feature (to much dismay), you were the one that mentioned it.

Actually you did when you said:

Wouldn't it be the desired size if it was already inside a ContainerControl that was pre-defined?

And I was responding to that.

What you are missing is it helps a lot in doing consistent layout... but I don't need to request it... in the forum that we already have the feature...

<snip>

So, as 'Wendy's' states,"Where's the beef?". You just answered you own questions about the subject of the message.

I must be going insane!

No, I just don't type full sentences sometimes ... My part above was meant to read:

What you are missing is it helps a lot in doing consistent layout... but I don't need to request it... Someone in the forum told me that we already have the feature...

I had also posted the same question in the forum and someone gave me the answer and I was sharing it here just in case anybody else wanted to do the same thing.
