I'll bet it's about as fast as C code would be if you compiled it
with a non-optimizing compiler.
OK, I'll reword that bit: ...not as fast as C code compiled with an
optimizing compiler... ;)
if only we could loose that one remaining caveat. how many quick
fixes would RS need us to pool to get that for r5?
