Way back in June of 2005, Christian Miller posted this little problem with Word Automation:

I am trying to automate some Word functionality and when I attempt to paste with the following line, on Windows XP SP2 with Word 2002 SP3, I get an "Exception code 0: Command failed, (failed on 'Paste')" error message.

        NewDoc.Application.Selection.Paste

The funny thing is that this works fine on OS X and similar code used to work on XP because that is where I originally designed the routine. Any ideas on what it could be complaining about?

I find myself now in a similar situation except my tester is receiving the following message:

Exception Message: Exception Code 0: Could not open macro storage., (failed on "Add")
Exception Error Number: -2147352567

The Rb code is:

  docDocument = wrdApplication.Documents.Add(strTemplateFile)

and works on my Windows XP SP2, Word 2003 SP2, but fails on his. The only difference I can see at this point is his build number for Word is lower than mine (I've updated and he hasn't apparently). I can't believe that a minor update to Word would cause the automation to work/not work.

Was there ever a solution to Christian's original problem? Or is there a solution now?

Any help would be appreciated.
