Why does it matter if it's intel or PPC? With Rosetta, the idea is
that you don't need to worry about it?

I can answer this two ways. By the way, keep in mind that the situation is that we are talking about a current-RB application (i.e. Power Mac only) that
_installs_ a product that is itself a universal binary application.

a) We OEM a software product from another vendor, add drivers for our own devices, and make a significant number of other changes. Our installer needs to install "the same thing" they install, whatever that may be, plus our delta. And their installer offers slightly different installation choice and installs slightly different things in the Intel and Power Mac environment. We need to do "whatever they do," so we need to do different things on Intel and Power Mac.

My sympathies. Sounds like a mess to be in no matter if MacIntel had come along or not.
