The 7th alpha release of the formatted text project is now
available for download. A lot of effort was put into optimizing
the code for typing responsiveness. Note, currently under Rosetta
the speed is crap. Please wait until the UB version of RB comes
out to test its speed for Intel Macs.

This code is now approaching the beta phase of development. When I
release the first beta, I will open it up to be purchased for your
projects. My current thinking on pricing for this software will be
$300 for encrypted modules and $600 for non-encrypted modules.
With the encrypted modules you won't be able to see what is going
on in the base code, but you will have the full ability to
subclass all the important classes and add your own functionality.
With the non-encrypted modules, you can override certain methods
and pull up the contents of those methods and make the changes you
see fit. If you are doing a high profile project, I suggest you
get the non-encrypted version.

Email me off list if you are interested in getting a hold of the
first beta when it comes out.

What's new in this release...

- Implemented some optimizations. Typing should be more responsive.

- You can now display margin guides for the page.

- Implemented changing the font, font size, and style (plain,
bold, italic, and underline) of selected text.

- Implemented document margins. You can now set the margins for
the document as a whole. Setting individual paragraph margins will
come in a future alpha.

- When the control loses focus, it turns off the blinking caret.

- When typing, the current line will automatically scroll into
view when your typing goes off screen.

Note, there are a couple of known minor cosmetic bugs in certain
selection situations.
