If you're talking about using QuickTime to playback the AAC, that's all pretty much handled without intervention. Unless I'm misunderstanding the question, you just use a MoviePlayer or Declare into the QuickTime API to have it play the file back.

If you're wanting to get at the data stream, you'll have some troubles when it comes to protected media... unless the latest QuickTime update addressed that.
