I'm trying to work with RB 2006R4 on an important project and have
experienced a couple of difficulties. I'm using the UB version of the
IDE on a G4 Mac in Mac OS 10.4.7.

1) If I use either of the "Check code" functions (Check Project for
Errors and Check Current Item), I get a failed assertion. I have
tested on another sizable project and do not have that problem with
that project, so it seems there is something particular to the project
I'm currently working on that those functions don't like. But of
course I can avoid using those functions to avoid that problem.

2) More problematic, I have now had two crashes that shut down RB. The
first occurred when I was clicking on some tabs in the project editor
to close them. The second occurred when I woke my Mac up from its
overnight sleep, activated RB from the background, and tried to resume
work on my project by editing a window's code (I pressed Option-Return
to access the window's code editing tab).

The project is fairly complex and I don't have the time to try to
narrow down these issues, and the RS engineers have made it clear that
large complex projects are not helpful to their troubleshooting
efforts. On the other hand, these experiences make R4 seem like a very
unfinished product in comparison to my initial use of other updates.
Other than sending RS the output of the latest crash report, how can I
help RS track down these problems -- and hopefully get a product that
I can productively use?
