You'll need updated plugins if your want to use the UB IDE or if you want to build for either Intel or UB.
However if, as a first step, you just want to get your existing app working in r4, you can convert your existing plugins to the required .rbx format using the Plugin Converter found in the SDK folder of the main RB download.
Since converted versions of old plugins still won't have an Intel part, you'll also have to run the IDE on PPC. So either download the PPC versiom of the IDE or use GetInfo on the UB IDE to set the Open using Rosetta checkbox.
This will get your existing apps compiling with r4. Then when you locate a full set of UB plugins you can move to the UB IDE if desired, and also build for Intel and UB.
