I infer that you're drawing on OS X, on a white background, with
UseOldRenderer set to False. What you're seeing is called subpixel
rendering, and it's a feature of the Quartz renderer.
That is why I use the Graphics.FillRect() method to draw horizontal
and vertical lines.
