Hi,

Does anybody have some code/ideas on how to implement that great old help feature in OS 9, where the system would slowly draw a thick red pen line around a control on a window?

1) grab a snap of the screen

2) draw a rough circle around the control location
- hack the Sketcher sample from http://www.oofile.com.au/ downloads.html#DownloadREALbasic to capture the curveshape points involved in drawing a rough loop (slowly) around a given rectangle
- draw with a different pen and just scale and offset the curveshape
- I would probably have 2 or 3 shapes with significantly different aspect ratios, so you can get that "rough oval" vs "rough circle" look

If I recall correctly, they were called "coach marks"

Andy
