Detachable tabs and non-tabbed editing (which behave the same) are
still in 2006r3.
I'm very comfortable with this configuration, as well with floating
properties windows.
It behave much more similar to RB 5.5.5
The only drawbacks are some annoying bugs, but since not too much
people use this configuration, there are not too many complains.
