I downloaded the PPC version as well, and so far for about the last
hour I have been crash-free, which is quite different from my
experience with the UB version.

That is odd, since I would have thought that the PPC and UB version
running on a PPC machine would be identical.  But now that I think
about it, I remember that the PPC version is a PEF bundle and the UB
is Mach-O.
