I think the idea of a static preview picture (or even a sequence of
them, linked to some states) is excellent.
As a purely declarative, data-based solution, it bypasses RS'
concerns over user code executing in the IDE.
Something like this (or better) is an essential part of a third-party
market being able to develop (just look at how such components behave
in VB to get an idea of where RS have to go).
