I'm sorry, but where, when and how many times did I heard this same
argument/excuse to not solve obvious problems with ALL new RB (2005/6)
releases?
Once for all, the problem IS NOT with the RS engineers! The problem is
with the "modus operandi" RS uses and that is not working in some
areas.
I think RS must review some of their procedures in order to correct
some problems, like old bugs never get fixed, new bugs introduced not
present in previous releases and not getting fixed in the next
release, new features with BIG bugs and so on.
I completely agree on that.
RS engineers are one of the best value of REALbasic itself. I want to
be clear about that.
The key point is exactly how the bug-fix procedure is operated. As
far as I can perceive, the actual bug base is constantly growing and
this is directly related to the proliferation of inter-release bugs.
As anyone can understand, this will constantly disrupt the ability of
RS to fix bugs at every release.
It's like a can of (proliferating) worms.
And, if nothing changes, soon will be very hard to put again the
worms in the can.
The introduction of a simple rule can easily help:
Fix bugs introduced in current alpha/beta release.
If RS doesn't have time to fix bugs when they're reported, what makes
RS think they will have more time to fix those bugs in the future?
