I wondered about that, and actually tried it, but when I use the
'Valentina for REALbasic Mac Host (PEF) (PPC+win)' I get syntax
errors on every Valentina-specific syntax usage, as if the plugin
isn't really present. Rebuilding the Precompiled doesn't help in
this situation either.

Since you use RB 2006 r3, which is PEF, you need download V4RB PEF
from the same page
