Two rather serious issues:

They are only serious if I allow them to remain. :)

(1) Simply copying and pasting a couple paragraphs of text inside the
control results in a permanently garbled visual mess.

Pasting functionality is not fully functional (or tested). I still
have to work in RTF support through out. This will receive
attention in a future beta when I hit the RTF stuff.

(2) The demo application consumes 98-99% of the CPU, just sitting there, even if there's no text and even if the application is in the background.
(This is on Windows XP.)

I definitely see this and I will look at it for the next beta. I
have a couple background threads running all the time (doing spell
checking and optimizations). I suspect it may be one of these
background threads. I don't see the same CPU pegging behavior on
the Mac, so this could be an RS bug in their thread support. Time
to do a little digging.

Aside from the fact that it's currently completely unusable, it's very, very
cool.

In my test systems under Windows it performs quite well (i.e.,
typing performance is fast) which is why I probably missed the
pegged CPU, so I would not categorize it as "completely unusable".
I would call it a "very cool work in progress with a few
unpolished edges." Definitely worth purchasing if you need to
start working with it for a future application.

If you guys see something in the demo, send me an email with the
bug report. You may someday want to buy a license and use it in an
application, so you will be helping yourself! Besides, I am in a
bug squashing mood! :)

Side note: Soon I will tackle RTF support and I will be creating a
library of routines to parse and create RTF. The question I have
for you guys is how valuable would such a library be to you? I
have seen other attempts of people to do RTF support and they
leave much to be desired. Would you want me to modularize it
as separate functionality so that it can be used in any context?

When the RTF support is done, maybe I should sell it to RS for
inclusion into the main framework. What do you think?
