Hey Joseph,

Nice work! Thanks for discovering this. I'll download the PPC R4 and try my Windows build again today.

Thanks again,

Jeff

Have you tried using the PPC version of the 2006r4 IDE?
I finally broke down yesterday and downloaded the PPC version of 2006r4 and my problems related to this bug went away.

Download it from RealSoftware site: look for "Download Individual Files"

BEWARE the Universal Binary version of 2006r4!

Anyway I have added to the bug report:

Please note: All App.Properties are messed up in some way: App.MajorVersion, App.MinorVersion, App.BugVersion, App.StageCode, App.NonReleaseVersion, App.PackageInfo, App.ShortVersion, App.LongVersion etc.

Please note: I have only seen this behavior when building from the UB version of 2006r4 to a Windows build. I used the PPC version of 2006r4 for the first time last night and the problem went away.

I dont know if its related to the App.Properties all being messed up, but when I build a fairly complex application with the UB version of RB2006r4 it will crash HARD with no error messages except "This application has generated errors, an error log will be created" The debugger stub does not report any errors back to the IDE. This crash happens after opening certain windows, trying to move windows around, or accessing the menubar. It might be related to this issue since my Splash screen is all messed up and uses the App.ShortVersion, etc.. when the UB version builds my app. But appears fine with no crashes using the PPC version.

Hey Dennis,

Thanks very much for pointing me there. I'll have to be sure to search for bug reports in future.

I certainly hope RS will get to this one quickly (before the next major release) as unlike other bugs this affects every Windows app built on a Mac using R4.

As another user commented in the bug report "Another workaround is to build with an older version (2006r2 in my case.)" - I don't believe that being forced to use 2 versions of the IDE is a workaround which can be used for the next few months until the next major release - we need a quick maintenance fix for this.

Cheers

In the IDE project tab - when I click on app, I enter text in the
LongVersion field and the NonReleaseVersion field (which is on

compiled Windows app correctly. However they appear correctly on OSX.
