No, I mean running the PPC version of the IDE, instead of the
Universal Binary release, on an Intel Mac or a PPC Mac. This was
suggested to me -- presumably by an RS engineer -- in the Evaluation
field of a bug report I submitted to the feedback system about
constant crashes on my G4.

After switching, things improved remarkably. A few Intel Mac owners
have mentioned here on the list that they made the same switch with
similarly good results.
