I am testing an app on my costumers's computer, an iMac G5, 1 GB
RAM, and I'm experiencing frequents drops on quicktime audio playing.
the app is essencially a search engine on a catalogue and a player
for listening on a separate window, and most of the times the drops
occur when the application is doing absolutely nothing on the
backgroud. They simply occur randomly, or for example when switching
to another application.
I've found some posts about quicktime declares amd movietasking, but
the way the drops occurs ( no operations on the backgroud ) makes me
think that it could not be the solution. I have removed some tasks,
such a a custom canvas display of the waveform with an advancing
pointer, to be sure of this.
is it possible that I'm facing such poor quicktime performance on a G5?
any idea about the problem?
Thanks in advance
