The (C++) OOFILE product handles DBF IV format including the
Microsoft Y2K bug but doesn't handle indexes. One reason is the
variety of index formats out there - which one do you mean?
Yes, dBase IV compatibility is a useful common denominator - we wrote
our backend for it to be able to round-trip exchange data with Access
databases and the Jet engine. Now (10 years later) I suspect most
people would solve the problem with XML.
