I have a text file that is a catalog of one of my server volumes. It has about 60,000 lines (records) in it and continues to grow. Each line lists a file name and a file size. Currently I read the text file into an array for searching and sorting, but I’m starting to have some performance issues. Will converting this file over to a REAL SQL database help speed things up?
Quite possibly since searching is one thing that databases are optimized for and you can put indexes on columns to make searching faster.
