Good idea, indeed.

But pushbuttons remain plain, sadly. (default pushbuttons may be difficult to reproduce with a bevelbutton).

Reading what you folks said, gave me an idea. Why not make a bevel button with an icon that is text. Then change the color of the pic as required.

Perhaps a little bit harder than the solution given earlier, but a thought.

Regards.

Yes, true as in the BevelButton, but most Normal PushButtons need some kind of text. So I am saying, why not have all the text attributes for
the controls that use the text format.

It's like I can add the text of "STOP", and if I want to make it Bold, Italic, or even Underline I can. But I can NOT make it RED... WHY NOT? It doesn't make sense having one but not the other is all I am saying.

But what you must remember is that colored text pushbuttons are probably
the exception rather than the rule in most OS's.

How many times have you seen this attribute in the applications you
normally use? I have none in the several dozen that I use regularly and
can't remember any that have any color other than black.

Even Bold, Italic and Underlined are exceptions, IMHO, but probably are supported in cross platform apps within the OS's APIs. Color is most
likely not supported as Rb would probably include it if it were.

However, there is still the question: why is text colour not
supported in pushbuttons on most OS's?
I believe it's because the rest of the button is fixed. If the text
colour could be changed, this may lead to an unreadable text.

Anyway, a MacOS X default button with red as text colour would be
wonderful!_______________________________________________
