you can try to disable tabbed editing in RB preferences.
This seems to solve the most part of IDE crashes which appear to be mostly related to tabs (especially closing tabs). Disabling tabbed editing also mimic the multi-window IDE of RB 5.5.5 which is more comfortable for me.
