Greg,

I too do the same but now I have encrypted the KeyCode using MD5. I have mine in a file like this: ProgramName_REG.ini

It works as if one makes it to hard to find for the user, then the program may have issues trying to find the file itself one day, if the user start pruning hos computers directory, that file may go as well.

For me I have the following:

RegName: Jonathon
RegKeyCode: (KeyCode encrypted via MD5)
RegType: Professional Edtion

I am not sure if this si want you want, but it has served me well.

Jonathon

Subject: where to put license file (windows)

My app needs to have a registration file to run. Currently I put a settings
folder in the same location as the application and the app looks for it.
However, I am a mac user, and I am wondering if the license file is more properly stored in the registry on Window's systems. Perhaps the preferences for the app
too?

Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

Greg
