Try opening it in 5.5 and deleting that window (or better yet, exporting it to XML, which may well fix whatever's wrong with it -- or allow you to fix it with a text editor). Yes, there may be some things (like container controls) that 5.5 won't grok, but on the whole most of your project should be pretty OK. Between that and your backup from two days ago, I imagine you could piece your project back together pretty quickly. And do please attach your project to a bug report to REAL Software; I'm sure they'll be keenly interested in anything that can reproducibly crash the IDE.
