You can't put a file "in" the registry, so to speak; it's not like a Preferences folder on a Mac. It's more like a .plist file (XML), that contains key-value pairs; essentially a big set of nested dictionaries (in WinSpeak, they call it a 'hive', I believe.)

I tried searching for messages in the archive for the RBNUG but it only
showed 2005 entries. Is that right?

I noticed there are commands to affect the registry accessible within RB. I am so confused on this issue. I currently have a license file in a folder "next" to the app itself. If I make an installer that puts the license file in the registry then how do I read it from within my program and write to it (window
only, the mac version i have to do separate I know)?
