What am I missing here? Probably something.
Using Date Class, how do I get the date ( the month and year are
there, but all I see is short date, which is dependent on the users
locale)

Why...I am using popUPs to help a person schedule appointments.one
popup per date, month and year, .so thought I would be kind and set
the current date as the app opens.
