Hi Eric,
I have try to do some similar before, but nope, it do not work for
me..
If i restart my little lovely Intel box and launch my app for the
first time, it take very long time to get the first Tool palettes
on the correct place.
When I then should Opening a text file (about 40-60KB) I get the
SPINNING WHEEL... next time it is so fast that you can't see what
happens! It is just there on the screen!
I could now (after first time) close my app and reopen it again
and it works fast!
So perhaps it is some memory or the Hard Disk cache?
I thought so, too, but clicking around different files in the
system proves to be very fast; no caching, presumably, on random
files. It does seem that if I draw this string:
"[EMAIL PROTECTED]
%^&*()_+=-][{}\|';:/.,<>?`~"
...to an arbitrary graphics object that all subsequent uses of that
font/size combination are much, much faster.
Perhaps a REAL employee could shed some light on this.

I just doing this as the last lines in App Open Event:
dim w as new TextWindow
w.Show
Without opening a file or add some text..
Now I get the spinning wheel when launch the app, BUT when I now
"Open" the first file it is fast!
So I should try to fix some "Initialize Window" on start up..
