Im not a lawyer (use my advice at your own risk) but my understanding is that you can utilize someone elses service or trade marks (textual only) in promoting your product - but only for indicating compatibility. For example, you can say your product is compatible with iPod but couldn't use an Apple logo without permission (and in the case of iPod stuff, without a fee).
