I'm getting speed results in excess of 4x over perl, using ElfData, now.
The last time, I had a bug in my code, caused by a minor design issue with FastString.buffer. (Which Ronald did complain to me many months ago. Shame I didn't listen then ;) )
Still, it is only a minor issue, noticable by perfectionists. I'll fix it for the next release of ElfData. It was easy to work around. Now that I did fix that bug, I am getting 4x the speed over perl.
